About Us

Hi, I'm Suemy— homeschool mom of four, former preschool teacher, and someone who has spent years in the classroom, in the nursery, and in the trenches of early childhood, in one role or another, since 2002.

What I Believe

I believe every child's first learning experiences outside the home should feel like wonder, not worksheets. I believe homeschool parents shouldn't have to choose between connection and community. And I believe two hours a week, done right, can be enough to give a child a village — a place where they're known, where they belong, and where learning feels like play because, at this age, it should.

My Background

Before homeschooling, I spent years as a preschool teacher, working hands-on with young children in classrooms, childcare settings, and early learning programs. That experience shaped everything about how Bright Start Learning is built — from the way our sessions are paced, to the way we blend literacy, math, science, art, and music into one connected theme each month, to the way we think about safety, ratios, and what young children actually need to thrive.

Now, as a mom of four navigating homeschooling myself, I bring both sides of the table to this work: the trained early-childhood educator, and the homeschool parent who understands exactly what your family is looking for — because I'm looking for it too.

Why Bright Start Learning

This isn't just a business for me. It's the program I wished existed locally for my own kids. Every session, every theme, every craft is built with the same care I'd want for my own children — because it is for my own children, too.

I'd love to welcome your family into ours.
